FAQs About Our Virtual Data Center

What is a Virtual Data Center?

Virtual data center (VDC) also known as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) is a pool of cloud resources (virtual CPUs, RAM, HDD, networks). This is the environment in which you can create virtual machines,, networks. You can increase its capacity when needed by adding new resources (CPUs, RAM, drives, IP-addresses).

How Many Virtual Machines Can Be Created in a Pool of Resources?

The number of virtual machines created is limited only by the ammont of the acquired virtual resources (CPU, memory, Storage). We recommend you to create a virtual machine with the following values: CPU power (vCPU): from 1 to 12 vCPU Memory (RAM): 1 to 32 GB Storage: 30 GB up to 2 Tb. If you deploy a virtual machine from our ready-made templates with a pre-installed OS, make sure that you have enough resources. Each template has requirements for the amount of resources.

Why Move to the Cloud?

Moving to the cloud does not have to mean taking a step back in your IT plan. Garanntor allows for seamless migration of Tier 1 and enterprise applications to the cloud via its Virtual Data Center. You can make the move today with zero effect on your production or performance. As a secure, multi-tenant cloud service, based on Onapp Cloud, our Virtual Data Center is fully compatible with your current environment. Automated systems for proactive management give you visibility into every level of the virtual infrastructure. Additionally, tools like Garanntor’s cloud portal help you efficiently monitor, manage, and scale your resources.

Which OS is available on Garanntor Virtual Servers?

Once you’ve launched your server, you’ll gain access to our operating system library with a variety of Linux & Windows configurations along with popular options such as CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, Windows Server, Arch Linux and control panels such as Plesk Onyx and cPanel. If required, you can easily rebuild your server with the operating system of your choice from our library. For more information, see Choosing An Operating System For Your Virtual Server

What’s The Difference Between Virtual Data Center and Virtual Server?

A Virtual Server is a separate virtual machine with a preinstalled operating system (we provide Ubuntu/Centos, Windows 2008/2012) and IP address. These servers are not connected to each other through local network. A virtual data center is a pool of cloud resources (vCPU, RAM, disk space, and one or more IPs). From these resources you can create a virtual machine with the required configuration from a template with a pre-installed OS or install OS from your own ISO-image. You can also work with numerous network settings (local networks, NAT, Firewall, load balancer), to organize virtual machines into clusters according to their intended purpose (web server, database). The virtual data center is managed in the Client area. For more information, see Why You Should Opt For a Virtual Data Center (VDC) Instead of a Virtual Server
